“The Theory of Everything” (2014) is a biographical drama directed by James Marsh, based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Hawking. The film explores the extraordinary life of renowned physicist Stephen Hawking (Eddie Redmayne) and his relationship with Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones), beginning during their university days at Cambridge.

The story follows their whirlwind romance, which blossoms just as Stephen is diagnosed with motor neuron disease (ALS) and given only two years to live. Despite the grim prognosis, Stephen defies all odds, continuing his groundbreaking research on black holes and the origins of the universe while Jane becomes his devoted caregiver.

As Stephen’s health deteriorates and his career flourishes, the strain on their marriage intensifies, leading to heartbreak and new beginnings for both of them.
